Gray Day Hodgepodge

The calf and Tom are best friends.
Tom sleeps curled up on him at night in his hay stall on our front porch, but I can't photograph the adorableness of that because if I move or turn on a light, they jump up and run toward me.
I do have a nice collection of flash lit gray and tan blurs snuffling my lens.

I like Tom Kitten. He climbs trees and eats rodents. He also sleeps cutely on his own pillow next to Becky's head at night. Better yet, he sometimes clumsily falls into the crack between her bed and her wall. His meow for help is surprisingly quiet and feminine for such a hulking, manly kitten.

Since I'm too lazy to make an effort at creating an interesting blog post, I figured I'd dazzle you with Katie's lovely photos. These are the twin baby girl goats who will find a home next month on approximately a million acres over on the other side of Lynchburg. Today was such a fun day despite the alarming global warming that came on so suddenly. In the morning we read stories to children at the library, then went to the local pool with friends. At home we mellowed out in the central air watching Rupert Everett as Sherlock Holmes while Laura prepared a delicious dinner of glazed pork chops with wild rice pilaf. Afterward, we met a delightful family through, you guessed it... a Craigslist goat posting.

The Super Tooth

Katie had a dentist appointment before we left on our great adventure to bring Colin home. After she was good for her cleaning, they gave her a prize box from which to pick a toy. Her choice was "Super Tooth," a gummy textured tooth on a string that will adhere to walls... and to camera lenses!

Oh, the things that go on while I'm driving that I would never have known about without the marvel of modern videography.

Library Weekend

Here are two out of four library volunteers.
The girls and I get to open the library and read for three hours one Saturday a month. This was our first week.
We sure know how to party here in Charlotte County!

Mr. B was in a feisty mood the other morning. The dogs were chasing the mares in the field while he was having his breakfast in the yard. But suddenly, he forgot all about his grain and went for a wild rumpus around the yard! We have loads of video, but it takes too long to upload. I thought this still photo, taken by Katie, was pretty impressive.
For my friends on FB, this is before his ankle injury.
Laura and Mr. B have a close relationship. He can't be ridden due to his EPM, a disease that attacks the nerves, but that works out perfectly for Laura, who loves horses but not riding.
