On November 13, my best milker, Merope, had these two boy children by Bambi. For reasons unknown to me, I kept them a secret from the public.
I think I meant to blog them, but for some reason didn't get a good picture of them... or something.
Karen at Holes In My Jeans is hard to fool, though. She caught me hiding the births of all male children on Providence Farm.
Remus, the orange one, got sold to a good home. His brother Romulus, on the right, and Janner are getting wethered tomorrow, I hope, and will go on Craigslist as pets.
I will also try to photograph our beautiful little doeling named "Surprise" and get her birth announcement up on the blog.

You had me at the title! What beautiful little boys! Out of curiosity, what do you use to "wether" your bucks? I should know in case Nutmeg gives me boys.
ReplyDeleteI actually made a mistake at first and entitled it "Egyptian Midwives'..." Then it occured to me that they were Hebrews. Their names are even listed in Exodus! (Probably Genesis the way I remember stuff from the OT ; )
ReplyDeleteI band them at 6-8 weeks of age. It's cheap, easy, and not too painful for them. At least not that I've seen so far.
Janner's a little older, and I'm worried about pain in his case. But not so worried that I want a stinky buck around the place.
When in the heck is Nutmeg gonna have those kids!?
