Woodland Vole Arena

This is "Willy," a woodland vole who was found by Tom and brought almost unscathed to the house.
The girls kept her indoors overnight for observation.
When I suggested the next morning that maybe the vole would do better without the stress of being played with, Katie answered, "We're just watching her in the arena."
The video shows the vole in her arena, and here is a pretty picture of her munching on a carrot.
She was released right after this, and we expect her to do fine back in the wild.
Till Tom gets better at hunting.

  1. Zoë and I loved this! Now she will be wanting to make her own vole arena (what a great idea)! I once caught a mole and it tried to dig through my hands...such a tiny thing packed so much power in those claws. The small animals have their own miraculousness, dont you think?

Always a pleasure to stop by and see what y'all are up to!

    1. I love what nature teaches us. Every animal is a unique creation!
I thought it was a kind gesture on the girls' part to use "The Wind in the Willows" as one of the arena books.
Good to see you on here : )
